The management headquarters of RheinEnergie AG.
The newly built RheinEnergie AG management headquarters is among the most state-of-the-art office buildings in Cologne. It's the perfect combination of architecture and nature that saves on energy and is environmental friendly. The European Commission added this building, which was completed in Summer 2014, to their GreenBuilding programme. The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) also awarded the company headquarters its Gold certification.
The D+H smoke extraction solution for this building did not flutter right off the production line. On the one hand, there were no profile systems that were compatible with the new drives. This necessitated the production of a customised product. The large supply air windows, which are used to quickly and reliably extract smoke from the large atrium in the event of a fire, posed another challenge. The atrium also functions as a gathering place, so it is subject to extremely stringent fire protection requirements.
