More efficient long distance transfers in the new terminal.

In 2003, a new long distance transfer terminal was added to the Copenhagen airport. The architecture needed to meet special demands with regard to logistics and organisation to ensure the seamless and convenient transfer of airline passengers in the new terminal. After all, the Copenhagen airport has the reputation of being one of the most efficient airports in the world.

The Copenhagen airport is one of the first airports in the world where the flow of space and movement has been designed based on scientific knowledge about human behaviour. Delays between gates and departure have been reduced substantially. And the new terminal is a showcase of the storied tradition of Danish design. The transit building was designed by the Danish architectural firm, Schmidt Hammer Lassen.
