Style meets safety.
The library in Waiheke Island, close to Auckland, is an educational institution and art exhibit. The 800 m2 building is dedicated to sustainability: The building's water is supplied by the rain, the materials are organic and large glass façades provide natural lighting. The library has areas for children, teens and adults. Three stunning pieces of art are a permanent fixture in the building.
The library was designed by New Zealand-based architecture firm Pacific Environments NZ Ltd.
